It’s been a while, but I have finally gotten my bachelor’s degree, at least it feels like forever. I just graduated from Utah Valley University in communication with an emphasis on Public Relations. I started at San Jacinto community college in Houston but then got into the car accident which took me out for a semester. I went to Montana to bounce back and met back up with my family in Amarillo. I attended Amarillo College to receive my associates in Mass Communication. While at Amarillo college I had the opportunity to do some pretty sweet things. I became certified to run the radio station there which is the biggest of all community colleges and puts up a good fight against most universities. I published articles for the school paper and ran a show for their YouTube channel called “Badger B.S”. I’ll leave links to some of my favorite episodes for you to check out. I competed in TIPA (Texas Intercollegiate Press Association) and received second in sports writing, fifth in another event, and later was awarded first prize for my first page headline about political candidates during Halloween which was “THINGS THAT GO TRUMP IN THE NIGHT.” I graduated there and moved on to UVU which is a ginormous University. It is now larger than BYU. I spent two years completing my degree, luckily a lot transferred to it from Amarillo College. UVU is generally pretty good about inclusion and not making you repeat a bunch of classes to get your degree. I had some time and room to take some entertaining classes such as Hip-Hop Dance, Spanish, and Social Media Content Creation. As of May 3, 2019, I have been educated! At this point in time I would prefer not to do any more schooling, but I attended a lecture once where the speaker was convinced to go after his master’s and then a Ph.D. He didn’t want to just teach kids as a teacher, he wanted to teach the teachers how to teach the children and he felt he could cover more bases that way. If I’m convinced to further my education, it would have to be a pretty convincing argument. I feel like experience is slowly becoming more wanted nowadays over a piece of paper although the piece of paper can open more doors for you initially.

Awesome journey and outstanding accomplishments!! Well done man, it took me 10 years to get an Associate's and another 3 to get a Bachelor's.
